The dewatering of the press section in the papermaking process involves passing the paper web through a series of nip rollers that squeeze the water out of the pulp mat. In this stage the moisture contained in the paper is removed by pressing the sheet against another big sleeve (press fabric with fine synthetic fibers on surface). This pressure also compresses the fibers so they intertwine to form a dense, smooth sheet. At this stage, the water content has reduced to between 45 and 55%.

PFM screen press fabric can provide a stable base and surface uniformity, this results in a more uniform pressing surface. The improvement of the surface uniformity of the press felt in the press section has the advantage of conveying smoother paper.

PFM Screen press felt has stronger resilience, and high resilience increases the dehydration effect. It has better compressibility and can provide a shorter flow path for the outflowing water. Thus, PFM Screen press felt increased dehydration and improved overall dryness.

PFM Screen press felt has two options of seam and endless. The seam version has the most effective twist in the base fabric and has a single loop in the seam area. The endless design provides greater flexibility and is easy to install, thus making operation easier.
